Description:

About seven species of Crososmia are native to southern Africa. Most garden plants are hybrids of these species. Foliage is iris-like and evergreen. Flowers stand on stalks above the leaves in the summer. This common orange-flowered hybrid can be fast growing for a small garden. Named hybrids are more restrained in growth and are available with yellow, red and bicolor flowers. A yellow dye is derived from at least one species.

Herbaceous plant with leaves about two feet tall.

Care Instructions:

Light: full sun to part shade

Water: grows best in a moist or irrigated site

Soil: very adaptable

This is an easy plant to grow in northeast Florida. It the right situation it can spread rapidly.
