Description:

Over one hundred species of Muhlenbergia are native to North America and Asia. Bamboo muhly grass is native to southern Arizona and northern Mexico. It is a clumping grass with upright stalks and slender leaves that give it the appearance of a small, slender bamboo. Flowers are inconspicuous.

Size:

Herbaceous plant with slender stalks and wispy leaves to about four to six feet tall.

Water: drought tolerant when established

Soil: adaptable, no special requirements

Bamboo muhly grass is an easy plant for Florida. It grows best in a sunny, well-drained site.
