NEW: Dead heat in race for Florida governor
A new poll of 1,471 likely midterm election voters in Florida from the Public Opinion Research Lab (PORL) at the University of North Florida shows razor thin leads for Republican candidates in the Governor and Senate races. Poll results show gubernatorial candidate Byron Donalds ahead of David Jolly by just two percentage points, and Ashley Moody with a four-point lead against Angie Nixon for U.S. Senate. These margins have narrowed notably since PORL’s July poll, which had Donalds up by five points and Moody up by eight.
Florida voters more concerned about property insurance than taxes
A new poll from the Public Opinion Research Lab (PORL) at the University of North Florida, in conjunction with the Orlando Sentinel and South Florida Sun Sentinel, shows a majority of Florida homeowners are more concerned about property insurance than property taxes. Respondents were asked a series of questions about their opinions and experiences around Florida property insurance.
AAPOR Responds to Fabricated Polling Data
The American Association for Public Opinion Research (AAPOR) issued a statement regarding the recent release of fabricated polling data by an organization as part of a "short-term social experiment." UNF PORL joins AAPOR in its condemnation of this and all data fabrication of falsification. This deeply disturbing behavior is not only harmful to the field of public opinion research, but more importantly to the democratic ideals we strive to uphold.
