Student EPAF Dates

A non-budgeted employee* who is enrolled in any number of credit hours during the semester in which he or she is working is considered to be a student employee, and should be listed as an "O4-Student Employee" on the electronic personnel action form (EPAF). (Student employees enrolled at least half-time may be eligible for FICA tax exemption. Refer to the guidelines on the student tax exemption page for more information.)

All student employee EPAFs are required to adhere to the beginning and ending date limits set forth by the Office of Human Resources. Please refer to the charts below to determine the beginning and ending dates to be used on a student employee's EPAF.

* Those employees that do not have an active faculty, administrative, support staff or adjunct (part-time faculty) position at UNF.

Refer to the Student Employment Resources page for a description of the student employment types.

How to determine what end date to use

  • Working less than an entire semester: The EPAF ending date should be the last day the student actually works for the department, not to exceed the ending date for a semester listed in the chart above.
  • Working for only one semester: The EPAF ending date should match one of the ending dates listed for a semester in the chart above.
  • Working longer than one semester but less than the entire academic year: The EPAF ending date should be the last day the student actually works for the department, not to exceed the ending date listed for the academic year in the chart above.
  • Working for the entire academic year: The EPAF ending date should match the ending date for the academic year in the chart above.
  • Working beyond the academic year: The EPAF ending date should match the ending date for the academic year in the chart above. A separate EPAF must be submitted for dates beyond the end of the academic year.
