The annual Ambassador Marilyn McAfee Scholarship Program presents multiple scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students with outstanding academic performance and career aspirations in international business, public policy, foreign affairs or military service. Named in honor of former Council Chairman Ambassador Marilyn McAfee, the scholarship program aims to help defray the costs of an international experience outside of the United States as part of the recipients’ educational development.

This year three students from three colleges and universities were awarded $2,000 scholarships each, totaling $6,000. They were formally recognized at the World Affairs Council of Jacksonville’s Annual Member Celebration.

The other two students who received the scholarship include Cara Addison, a marine science master’s student from Jacksonville University (JU) studying abroad in Sorrento, Italy, and Bethany Castillo, a history major at Flagler College, studying abroad in Vietnam.

In the fall, Levy will be traveling to Israel to intern with researchers at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and study Arabic.
