UNF Long Distance Runner Competes in U.S. Track & Field Olympic Trials

Aidan O'Gorman running in a track meetUniversity of North Florida track and field standout Aidan O’Gorman looks to make his mark on the national stage, competing in the 10,000m final race at the 2024 U.S. Track & Field Olympic Team Trials. The first day of competition starts today in Eugene, Oregon, at the University of Oregon’s Hayward Field.
 
The fifth-year Osprey secured a spot at the trials earlier this month after turning in a time of 28:14.34 in the 10,000m race at the Portland Track Festival. He finished third overall at the festival and improved his personal best mark from last season by 45 seconds.
 
O’Gorman, who holds the UNF program record for the outdoor 10,000m race at 28:59.90, looks to add to his impressive resume at the Olympic trials. He finished his 2023 outdoor track season as an All-American honorable mention selection in the 10,000m after qualifying for the NCAA Championships, followed by earning ASUN Scholar-Athlete of the Year and First Team All-Conference honors this past cross country season.
 
The 2024 United States Olympic trials take place from Friday, June 21 to Sunday, June 30, with all finals airing live on NBC in primetime. Competition streaming is available on various NBC platforms including Peacock.
