UNF earns 2025-26 Military Friendly School designation for 16th consecutive year

The University of North Florida has once again been recognized as one of the nation’s top institutions for military-connected students, earning the 2025-26 Military Friendly School designation for the 16th consecutive year. In addition to receiving gold recognition status for its exemplary commitment to military-connected students, UNF has also been named among the Top Ten Military Spouse Friendly Schools.

“We’re proud to be recognized as a top Military Friendly School and remain deeply committed to helping military-connected students and families thrive at UNF,” said Bill Cousins, director of UNF’s Military and Veterans Resource Center (MVRC). “From academic support to career readiness and community connection, the MVRC is proud to ensure our veterans, service members and their families succeed on campus and beyond.”

The Military Friendly Schools list is compiled each year by Viqtory, a service-disabled, veteran-owned business, using extensive research and a data-driven survey administered to over 8,800 postsecondary institutions nationwide.

Final ratings were determined through a combination of public data, student veteran feedback and institutional survey responses. The methodology, developed with input from the Military Friendly Advisory Council, evaluates institutions based on student retention, graduation rates, job placement, loan repayment, degree advancement and loan default rates, with a specific focus on outcomes for student veterans.

Representing more than 13% of the student body, UNF supports over 2,210 military-connected students with 1,482 utilizing VA education benefits. The MVRC plays a crucial role in providing these students with the necessary support and resources for success, from orientation to graduation and beyond.
