UNF to host public policy discussion “Trade Wars: A Conversation on Tariffs”
The University of North Florida will host a free and open-to-the-public Diverse Perspectives Series event, “Trade Wars: A Conversation on Tariffs.” The discussion will take place from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, at the Adam W. Herbert University Center.
Tariffs have been one of the defining public policy issues of the second Trump administration, particularly following the president’s April 2 “Liberation Day” announcement of reciprocal tariffs on a wide variety of countries. A panel of UNF experts including Dr. Kyle Romero, assistant professor of history; Dr. Russell Triplett, associate professor of economics; and Dr. Nick Seabrook, professor of political science; will discuss how tariffs and trade policy affect the domestic and global economies, businesses and lives of ordinary Americans.
The public can ask questions and share thoughts during the event.
UNF’s Office of Public Policy Events hosts at least two events each semester that bring the campus and community together to discuss and debate important and timely issues from diverse perspectives.
