Dan Kees is the newest member of the Florida SBDC at the University of North Florida team. Dan brings diversified experience as a past business owner in management, operations and sales who believes in a holistic, transparent, and strategic approach to his consulting process.

Following three years working on Wall Street, Dan became the third-generation owner/operator of his family’s staffing business in New Jersey. After 23 years when the business sold, he oversaw the sale and integration of the business and was retained by the buyer to expand and manage the New Jersey region.

Dan eventually relocated to Jacksonville Florida, where he established an independent financial services practice with both Allstate Financial Services and New York Life Insurance Company, and most recently as a Regional Business Consultant with Paul Davis Restoration Inc. supporting 28 franchise owners in all aspects of their business operations.

Born and raised in New Jersey, Dan received his B.S. in Business Administration in Finance at the University of Richmond while on a football scholarship, then obtaining his MBA in Finance at the George Washington University. Outside of work he is an avid sports fan and enjoys golf, travel, volunteering, and time with his family. Dan and his wife of 30 years, Lisa, have a daughter who lives in New York City, and a son who resides in Boston.
