Mygani

Felicia Wright started her journey to entrepreneurship with a passion for graphic design and working with non-profits. She came to the SBDC back in 2008 to learn how she could capitalize on this passion. She met with several consultants over the years for assistance with completing her business plan, government contracting, financial analysis, and marketing strategy. After several iterations, Felicia has refined her business into what it is today, Mygani.
Mygani is a lifestyle accessory brand that creates inspirational travel bags, handbags, mugs, and home décor for women and girls of color. Felicia’s vision is to empower women of color to be confident within themselves regardless of their hair texture or skin complexion. Mygani’s product line embodies that with custom, positive illustrations of black women with naturally curly hair that are exclusive to the brand.
With the assistance of her SBDC consultant, Felicia launched the signature event Curls and Convo™ in 2015. This event is designed to empower women through a loving conversation (or “Convo”) about what makes natural hair and Black culture magical. To date, Mygani has empowered and engaged over 850 women of color in our local community. In 2022, the City of Jacksonville declared February 12, “Curls and Convo Day” with an official proclamation.
Felicia now regularly meets with the SBDC to keep her online presence and marketing strategy up to date. She says of her time with the SBDC, “I would tell any fellow business owner they should definitely reach out to the SBDC. You can ask questions so that you are matched with an expert within your specific scope of needs.” Her e-commerce retail business is continuing to grow with the support of the SBDC!
The FSBDC has been a tremendous help to me with the growth of my company. My SBDC consultant helps with my marketing strategies and has given great feedback and support throughout the process."
