How to make a counseling appointment:

If you are a current UNF student and are interested in seeking counseling services from the UNF Counseling Center, you may do so by walking into our main office (located in Building 2, Founders Hall, Room 2300) and scheduling with the front desk or by completing the online appointment request form below.

Please send an email to counselingctr@unf.edu to cancel or reschedule an appointment with your current counselor. You will get a response within 48 hours.

Along with the counselors located at our main office, an embedded counselor is available at Student Health Services and Housing Residence Life.

What to expect at your counseling appointment:

  • As a new client you will be scheduled for an Initial Assessment and will be asked to complete paperwork online prior to your visit.
  • The session will be about 45 minutes and will focus on what is most concerning or “top of mind” for you at the moment and your counselor will provide some immediate support.
  • Some students find that talking with a counselor once is sufficient to resolve their immediate concerns.
  • If further services would be beneficial, these will be discussed, and a recommendation will be made by your counselor.
  • Additional Information about online, on-campus and off-campus resources will also be provided toward the end of your counseling session.
