Financial Assistance

Private Loans for Continuing Education Courses

The University of North Florida can certify private loans for certain non-credit courses offered through the UNF Division of Continuing Education (DCE). Private Loans, offered by banks and financial institutions, are based on your credit profile. The student and/or co-signer must be creditworthy as determined by the lender. Eligibility criteria may vary per lender. The loan application process with the lender must be completed before UNF can certify and award the loan.

The UNF Division of Continuing Education Private Loan Processing Form is not a loan application. This form notifies the DCE staff that you wish to enroll and pay for a DCE course using a private loan. Please download the form below and review the steps. For questions, contact Lauren Tallier or call (904) 620-4200.

Financial Assistance Options

Individuals enrolling in programs offered through the UNF Division of Continuing Education (UNFDCE) may be eligible for financial assistance through one of the following.

AmeriCorps

AmeriCorps funding is accepted once the participant has submitted his/her request through the AmeriCorps portal my.americorps.gov and provided UNFDCE a copy of the submission and approval. It can be used for a face-to-face or online class format. Contact Program Director, Jessica Murray, with questions.

CareerSource Northeast Florida

CareerSource Northeast Florida provides training scholarships to eligible participants. Visit https://careersourcenortheastflorida.com/training-for-job-seekers/.

Florida Prepaid College Program

If you have the Florida Prepaid tuition plan, the payment amount per credit hour varies based on the plan type. UNFDCE programs are clock hours, so they must be converted to credit hours to determine the total payment by Florida Prepaid. Begin by creating a profile on the Florida Prepaid website and submitting documentation to UNFDCE to verify your account. Florida Prepaid will not pay if your account is not in good standing or if you need to complete a survey. For questions, visit www.myfloridaprepaid.com or contact Program Director Jessica Murray.

MyCAA

The Military Spouse Career Advancement Account (MyCAA) Scholarship is a workforce development program that provides up to $4,000 of tuition assistance to eligible military spouses. To establish a MyCAA account and get your enrollment approved, visit the spouse portal at mycaa.medcertify.com. Contact Program Director, Jessica Murray, with questions.

Private Loans

The University does not provide loans for continuing education programs. Loans are available and may be secured independently by students from many private institutional lenders. Private lenders determine their interest rates, enrollment status requirements, repayment options, and any applicable fees.

Additional Financing Options

Some programs including Data Science, IT Courses, and ED2Go may offer additional financing. Please get in touch with our office at (904) 620-4200.
