Strategic Plan: Our Path to the Future

The University of North Florida Coggin College of Business Strategic Plan shines a light on a very bright future our school has ahead of it. The ambition and intellect of our students, the support of the administration and the interest and partnership of North Florida’s business community are all helping us lead the way in being a key economic component of the Jacksonville area business ecosystem.  

The Coggin College of Business has been hailed by Princeton Review as one of the nation’s “best business schools,” and we play a foundational role in UNF’s goal of becoming a university of national prominence and distinction.   

The College has developed a wealth of specific, sustainable advantages and strengths that benefit our students and community exemplified in our Strategic Plan. The College has also forged strengths in areas of growing global importance.   

The Strategic Plan is intended to provide a snapshot of the College’s capabilities, accomplishments, and ambitions. The path ahead leads to new heights we intend to reach.

OUR STRENGTHS

The College has developed a wealth of specific attributes including:

 A wide variety of master’s and bachelor’s degrees and non-degree executive education programs

  • AACSB accreditation, which less than 5% of business colleges worldwide achieve
  • Accomplished and diverse faculty
  • A very high level of alumni and community support
  • Healthy endowments supporting student scholarships, fellowships and study abroad
  • Endowments supporting professorships and research activities

STRATEGIC PLAN HIGHLIGHTS

The College finalized a strategic plan to guide the school’s focus, growth and development through 2025. The plan includes seven major goals: 

  1. Increase the Coggin College of Business research output to be consistent with aspirant institutions. 
  2. Broaden the Coggin College of Business undergraduate offerings in areas of strategic emphasis that build upon the College’s unique strengths. 
  3. Broaden the Coggin College of Business graduate offerings with an emphasis on programs that meet critical market needs. 
  4. Continue to expand the Coggin College of Business international presence. 
  5. Create a culture of inclusion by attracting, recruiting, retaining and advancing talented students, faculty and staff from diverse populations. 
  6. Increase partnerships with the regional business community by promoting and supporting economic development by increasing the brand recognition of Coggin College of Business. 
  7. Engage in internal and external initiatives, activities and scholarship that create positive societal impact.
