The University of North Florida offers numerous resources where members of the campus community can find support.



Health, Wellness and Safety

  • Counseling Center

    Counselors are available Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. to meet in person with students who have urgent concerns (non-emergency). An appointment is not necessary. Walk-in hours are from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Crisis support is also available via telephone 24 hours a day / 7 days a week by calling (904) 620-2602 and selecting option 2. In an emergency, dial 911 on your phone.

  • Dean of Students

    The Dean of Students Office supports the University’s student-centered mission by focusing on care services, student conduct, academic integrity, conflict resolution, advocacy, and intentional educational engagement to promote and encourage well-being, accountability, prevention, and holistic student development.

  • Lend-A-Wing Pantry

    Lend-A-Wing Pantry is a Student Government Executive Agency designed to combat food insecurity on campus by providing students free, anonymous access to food, hygiene items and school supplies. Lend-A-Wing is open to members of the UNF student community.

  • Lend-A-Fit

    Lend-A-Fit provides students with business professional outfits at no cost in order to build students' wardrobes as they prepare for interviews and workplace dress codes. Students can make an appointment for this service.

  • Ombuds Office

    The Office of the Student Ombuds provides all UNF students with a safe, confidential place to bring questions and concerns about University rules, policies, or procedures. The Ombuds assists students by considering all sides of an issue in an impartial and objective way, and then advises on how to best resolve the problems.

  • Recreation and Wellness

    The Department of Recreation and Wellness, known as RecWell, offers programs and services to balance the academic demands with outside-of-the-classroom opportunities to de-stress, build a strong mind and body, gain practical work experience, and to form lasting friendships.

  • Student Advocate

    The Student Advocate is a member of the Executive Branch of Student Government, appointed to the Cabinet of the Student Body President, and confirmed by the Senate.

  • Title IX

    The Office of Equal Opportunity and Inclusion (EOI) has the authority and responsibility to receive, investigate, and, where appropriate, attempt to conciliate complaints, or investigate situations or conduct alleged to be in violation of the University's Non-Discrimination, Equal Opportunity and Inclusion Regulation and Sexual Misconduct and Title IX Sexual Harassment Regulation.

  • University Police Department

    The University of North Florida is a friendly, caring and trusting community, but we are not immune to problems associated with crime. Your University Police Department will do everything possible to keep you safe, but needs YOUR help. As a member of the University community you can help control crime by reporting suspicious activity, taking extra precautions and being aware of the crimes that could affect you. Contact the University Police Department at (904) 620-2800.

  • Victim Advocacy Program

    The Victim Advocacy Program serves as a resource and support service for anyone in the University community who has been a victim of actual or threatened violence. The services offered range from emotional support to assistance navigating the criminal justice system. 24-hour crisis intervention services are available to provide immediate assistance to the UNF community.

  • Employee Assistance Program — For Faculty and Staff

    UNF's Employee Assistance Program (EAP) offers confidential, short-term counseling from Licensed Professional Counselors for a full range of personal issues and achieving a healthy work/life balance across the life span. In a crisis, emergency help is available 24/7.

Connecting and Belonging

  • Community Alliance for Student Success (CASS) Mentoring Program

    Community Alliance for Student Success, or CASS offers UNF students the unique opportunity to be coached by executive-level industry leaders, build community with peers, and participate in programs that enhance your collegiate experience.

  • Connections Mentoring Program

    The Connections Student Mentoring Program connects first- and second-year UNF students to supportive faculty and staff who help them acclimate socially and welcome them into the Osprey family. The program aims to assist students in the process of making positive choices in their daily lives by providing guidance, support, motivation and advisement towards the fulfillment of their goals.

  • Student Clubs — Osprey Involvement Center

    There are more than 200 student organizations and clubs on campus. The Osprey Involvement Center supports the function, activity and involvement of students in these organizations. OIC aids in club workshops, involvement coaching, leadership development, and other community-building services.

Student Success

  • Academic Advising

    Academic Advisors help students reach their goals of academic success, including as students select majors, build academic schedules, complete required forms or need to be connected to other resources.

  • Student Academic Success Services

    Student Academic Success Services includes tutoring, supplemental instruction, peer-assisted learning and academic coaching.

  • Student Accessibility Center

    The Student Accessibility Center promotes and facilitates partnership among UNF students with disabilities and the UNF community.

  • Thomas G. Carpenter Library

    The Thomas G. Carpenter Library offers a variety of services, including research consultations, library guides, reserved spaces to study, in addition to more than 800,000 physical items and almost 300 research databases.

  • General Counsel

    The mission of the Office of the General Counsel is to provide comprehensive, high quality and professional legal services in a timely manner that enables the University to achieve its mission in an ethical and lawful manner.
