Fall 2024: Elections Timeline

Monday, August 19th: First Day of Classes 


Tuesday, August 20th: Political Party DOI's Window Open

Forms can be found at the Student Government Rotunda in the Student Union Building, 58E/3300.

Completed forms are due by September 10th at 5 PM in the Student Government Rotunda, located in Student Union Building 58 East, Room 3300.


Wednesday, August 21st- Wednesday, August 28th: Elections Tabling

UNF Elections will be tabling during Market Days; Wednesdays from 10 AM - 2 PM


Wednesday, September 4th: Elections Tabling

UNF Elections will be tabling during Market Days; Wednesdays from 10 AM - 2 PM


Wednesday, September 4th: Elections 101 Workshop 

UNF Elections will be hosting a meeting to discuss and answer questions about the Spring 2024 Student Government elections, at 4:00 PM. 

Located in the John E. Sapp conference room, on the third floor of the Student Union Building 58 East, Room 3204.

Tuesday, September 10th: Political Party DOI's Close

Forms can be found at the Student Government Rotunda in the Student Union Building, 58E/3300.

Tuesday, September 10th: Candidate DOI's Open

Forms can be found at the Student Government Rotunda in the Student Union Building, 58E/3300.

Completed forms are due by October 1st at 5 PM in the Student Government Rotunda, located in Student Union Building 58 East, Room 3300.


Wednesday, September 11th: Elections Fair 10 AM - 2 PM

Students and candidates are encouraged to attend and meet the different political parties running in the upcoming election. Party chairs must contact the Supervisor of Elections to discuss setup.

Candidates are permitted to put up their campaign signage. Please review the campus signage map (located in the Candidate Campaign Packet) to ensure you are following the proper policies and procedures.

The Elections Fair will take place at the Student Union's Market Wednesdays Tabling event.


Wednesday, September 18th - Wednesday, September 25th: Elections Tabling

UNF Elections will be tabling during Market Days; Wednesdays from 10 AM - 2 PM


Tuesday, October 1st : Senate Candidate DOI's Close

Forms can be found at the Student Government Rotunda in the Student Union Building, 58E/3300.

Completed forms are due by 5 PM in the Student Government Rotunda, located in Student Union Building 58 East, Room 3300.


Wednesday, October 2nd - Wednesday, October 9th: Elections Tabling 

UNF Elections will be tabling during Market Days; Wednesdays from 10 AM - 2 PM


Wednesday, October 2nd: Mandatory Candidacy Meeting

Each candidate is required to attend at least one of these meetings or will be disqualified from running.

Located in the Senate Chambers, on the third floor of the Student Union Building 58 East, Room 3200 from 4:00-5:00PM.

Wednesday, October 16th: Senate Candidate Meet and Greet Tabling @ Market Days

UNF Elections will be hosting a candidate forum during Market Days from 10 AM - 2 PM. 

The candidate forum will take place in the Student Union Plaza to give students the opportunity to meet with candidates running and speak about their issues and concerns.

Party chairs/candidates must contact the Supervisor of Elections to discuss setup. 


 

Tuesday, October 22nd- Wednesday, October 23rd: Elections On Campus

The Student Government Election begins on Tuesday, October 22nd from 9 AM - 4 PM, and will reopen Wednesday, October 23rd from 9 AM - 4 PM. Voting will take place in the Student Union Plaza. Online voting opens on Tuesday at 9:00AM and closes Wednesday at 4:00PM.  


Wednesday, October 23rd: Unofficial Election Results Released 


Thursday, October 24th: Candidate Financial Reports Due 

Candidate Financial Statements are due by 5 pm in the Student Government Rotunda in the Student Union Building 58E/3300. All expenses must be declared. Refer to title VI, Elections: Policies and Procedures for more details. 


Thursday, October 24th: Judicial Complaints and Signage Removed

Any A&S fee-paying student may file a judicial complaint regarding the election. Judicial complaints must be filed by 5 pm on October 24th, 2024, and submitted to the Student Government Rotunda in the Student Union Building 58E/3300, with the exception of the Supervisor of Elections.

Candidates are responsible for removing all campaign-related materials by 5 pm.

 

How to Run in Elections

Step 1:

Go to the Student Government Rotunda located in the Student Union Building 58E/3300 to pick up any required forms. 

Step 2:

Return the completed forms to the Student Government Rotunda located in the Student Union Building 58E/3300 before any relative deadlines found in the Timeline.
