Rabat, Morocco

Join our partner university ESSEC at their Africa campus in Rabat, Morocco! Located on the Atlantic Ocean coast and the River Bou Regreg, Morocco's capital city of Rabat is home to 1.6 million people and is considered one of the safest cities within the country. Beautiful Rabat is home to the Royal Palace (the most important museum in Morocco), the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and many historical tourist attractions. Pleasant weather supports the gardens of Rabat-Salé with over 1,500 exotic species and a maze of paths and walkways that receive thousands of visitors a year. Gain a deeper understanding of Africa while visiting a city rich in culture and imperial structures.

Summer B

Class Dates: Beginning of July (three weeks)

Additional Meeting Dates

Preparatory meetings prior to travel are required as part of these summer programs. Topics discussed include safety, cultural adaptation, program expectations, flight/logistical arrangements, and scholarship opportunities. Mark your calendar for the following mandatory meetings:
  1. Friday, March 7, 9 AM-12 PM
  2. Friday, April 4, 9 AM- 12 PM
  3. TBD, September 2025 (Re-entry meeting)
 
Subjects Students complete one five-credit course* over a three-week period:
3/4000 GEB Elective: Entrepreneurship & Innovation in Africa
  • African Geopolitics
  • Doing business in Africa
  • Entrepreneurship and startups in Africa
  • Artificial Intelligence & Innovation

*International Business students who take the optional Arabic language course will earn a total of six credits, which will fulfill Regional Studies or six credits of the Global Expertise Concentration

MAN3025 Administrative Management (preferred, but not required)

Participants

Open to a maximum of three UNF undergraduate students who meet the above prerequisites
 
Cost

Approximately $3,000 (as of 2024) :

  • Lodging (350€ for single room = approx. $375, or 175€ for double room = approx. $187)
    • common kitchens, free laudromat
  • Class materials, activities, and visits (300€ = approx. $320)
  • International health insurance (approx. $30)
  • Airfare (approx. $2,000)
  • Meals
Additionally, students must pay for five or six* credits of UNF summer tuition and fees.
